In the book of Luke, Jesus saw a poor widow making an offering at Jehovah's temple, he explains that although the coins she gave were of very little monetary value, and yet because she gave out of he want rather than any excess, she gave more than those giving large amount of their funds. The two coins she gave were of the type shown here and are in value only 1/16 of a cent each. See Luke 21:1-4
